Interview with Ava Rose Scott

Hello again, friends!  I'm here this time with an interview with my friend and author Ava Rose Scott, in which we discuss her published book, For All of Them Lost.  Let me tell you, if you have the opportunity to read this book, it is so worth it.  Her story, characters, and poetry is all so beautiful.

To start off, welcome, Ava!  Could you tell me a little bit about yourself and your book?

Yes! To start, a little about me:
I'm a teenage girl with a heart for God, writing, and reading! My favorite genre to read is Historical Fiction in the Young Adult category. :) I also love dystopian! My favorite two books (so far) would be The Book Thief and Girl in the Blue Coat!
I also love aesthetic and Fall leaves. Two things that go along together so perfectly!
Now, a bit about my book!
My book is a book of poems. Poems that go from the baby in the womb, to the girl going to have an abortion, to the girl who decided to keep her baby. So three storylines, three "main" characters. It's really interesting.
But, other than that, it's a story about forgiveness. A story about courage, courage to do the "right thing."

What made you want to write this book? How long has it been in the works?

Well, see, I had this passion for helping abolish abortion, and I really wasn't good at selling T-shirts, believe it or not. So I thought: What if I wrote a pro-life poetry book? I could use my passion to help! So pretty much the ground-roots of this book came from really, I just wanted to help. The pro-life movement made me want to write it!
Hmm... honestly, I'm not that good (at all) with dates. I would say that it's been going on for maybe five months?

Do you remember where you first learned about the pro-life movement?

I first learned about the pro-life movement probably two years ago. I learned that it was wrong, but never engaged in being Pro-Life and in the pro-life community. I think I heard things about abortion, though I don't remember what, that turned me into an activist on social media for the unborn.

For those who may not know what this book is about, would you be willing to give a brief description or synopsis?

Sure thing!

A poetic journey of loss, hope, and friendship, this story weaves together the tales of two struggling teen girls.

Young Cadence is pressured into having an abortion. Cadence can’t keep her baby, and she knows it. Her friend, Rosemary, is also pregnant, but Rosemary feels what she must do, however hard it might be.

For Cadence, New York City is approaching, and she grips the steering wheel. She lets the sound of the radio hold her breath and scream for her.

At the same time, Rosemary stands and watches out over the city. Too many lights for a world so dark. Rosemary grips her stomach, she plays the piano. She plays and plays, each note smooth and yet ragged at the same time. A funeral procession of time.

This is a poetry book for the forgotten, for the lost, and for the wounded. This is a story of love, hate, courage, strength, and sadness.

This is a story for all of them lost.
