Day 5: Seven Days of Hope Blog Tour

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. - Corrie Ten Boom

Hello, friends!

I am so excited to participate in the Seven Days of Hope blog tour!

Hope is an important topic to me, especially over the past year.  We all know 2020, and the first few months of 2021, have been crazy.  For me at least, very few things went "as planned."  Being quarantined more than a few times, I found it easier and easier to spiral into a state of pure depression.  During those long, challenging days in March, April, May, and then again in September, December, March (a year later), I began to truly understand the concept of hope.

Because music seems to be a special language to me, I ended up with an entire playlist within just a few days.  I know I'm not the only one in need of hope.

As I share this with you, my prayer is that you find the same hope, the same strength, I gained from these beautiful words.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.  Revelation 21:4 (NKJV)

I clung to this verse through everything.  I remember one day in April, I found myself lying on the floor, fighting depression once again, unable to speak, barely able to move.  I finally managed to open up the Bible app on my phone.  Even now, I'm not sure how I was led to this verse, but I know everything suddenly shifted.

Was I still fighting depression?  Definitely.  But that verse changed something.  To this day, a year later, I still cling to it as my hope.  That verse gave, still gives, me hope.  This is the hope I can have as a Christian.  To believe, to trust, to wait for that day when we will encounter something so much better than anything we have ever known.  That day when He will wipe away my tears.  He will make all things new.

No more pain, nor tears, nor sorrows.  No more death, nor suffering.  Can we just take a minute to imagine what that would be like?  Won't it be simply beautiful?
